NOVEMBER 2015: Dr Jessica Hendy Receives Postdoctoral Research Position
After passing her PhD viva, former EUROTAST Fellow Dr Jessica Hendy started a position as a postdoctoral research assistant with Dr Camilla Speller at BioArCh, University of York. In her EUROTAST research she explored the development of novel archaeological-biomolecular methods to understand the health and diet of enslaved Africans during the transatlantic slave trade. In this new project she will be exploring the kinds of disease-causing bacteria people were exposed to during the Industrial Revolution in Britain, in order to understand how changes in sanitation, urbanisation and technology may have affected people’s health during this time.
