AUGUST 2014: Genotyping Workshop
From 25 – 29 August 2014, EUROTAST fellows studying population genetics and bioinformatics (Marcela Sandoval Velasco, Cesar Fortes Lima, Anuradha Jagadeesan, Petr Triska, Tanja Heinz and Hákon Jónsson) attended a Genotyping Workshop hosted by the Centre for Geogenetics in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The main objective of the workshop was to provide advanced training in some of the methods used for analysing genotype data, including Principal Component and ADMIXTURE analysis. Split between lectures and hands-on sessions the students spent five days familiarizing themselves with the tools and applying their newly-gained skills in analysing a large genotype dataset.
The workshop was organized by Dr. Hannes Schroeder, with participation of other researchers from the University of Copenhagen, including Dr. Filipe Vieira, Dr. Martin Sikora, Dr. Anna Sapfo Malaspinas, Yateen Joshi, and José Víctor Moreno Mayar.
